Welcome to the website of the Polish Association of European Studies (PAES).

PAES was established in 2012 on the initiative of scholars conducting research on the European Union (EU) and European integration. The organization brings together political scientists, lawyers, sociologists, economists, cultural studies scholars, media experts and historians, among others. The mission of PAES is to advance research and disseminate knowledge in the field of European studies, to foster collaboration of scholars working on various aspects of European integration and EU politics across different disciplines, as well as to ensure high quality education in the field of European studies conducted by the Polish universities and research institutes.

At the moment seventeen thematic Research Sections constitute PAES.

Membership

Any individual engaged in European studies can become a member of PAES. Members shall be accepted by the Board of the relevant regional branch of PAES (see GOVERNANCE section) based on a written declaration from the applicant. Individuals interested in individual membership in the PTSE are requested to:

• Read the PTSE Statute (see Polish version of the website),
• Send a completed and signed membership declaration (below) to the appropriate branch by
• Pay the annual membership fee by the end of March of the following year:

PLN 120 - holders of the academic title of professor or doctor habilitated,

PLN 70 – holders of a doctoral degree,

PLN 50 – others,

PLN 200 – legal persons.

Honorary members are exempt from membership fees.
